Organization: D.O. More for 904 - City Rescue Mission

One of the first chapters established, D.O. More Jacksonville was founded by local medical students who partnered with the nonprofit organization City Rescue Mission. Since 1946, City Rescue Mission has been serving the needy and homeless by “providing food, clothing, shelter, emergency services and recovery programs for those in the Jacksonville area.” Through annual fundraising efforts and generous contributions from donors, over $3500 was raised to assemble hundreds of “Blessings in a Bag.” These bags consisted of toiletries, nonperishable foods, blankets, and personal hygiene items that were packaged, donated and distributed with City Rescue Mission. The Jax chapter also has volunteered with events at Ronald McDonald house and Dolphin Pointe Nursing Home.
