Organizations: The Upper Room and SafeNet

D.O. More Erie was founded by local medical students at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Erie Campus. This chapter now includes medical and pre-medical students from Mercyhurst and Gannon University. D.O. More Erie originally paired with The Upper Room of Erie homeless shelter to raise $4000 for 300 blessings in a bag and other larger donation items. The second fundraiser was SafeNet Erie Domestic Violence Shelter where the chapter raised $2000 for 240 "Blessings in a Bag" along with additionally requested ethnic hair products. The SafeNet fundraiser was built for the variety of population that enters SafeNet and the chapter tailored 4 separate bags for the needs of women, men, infants and children. This chapter is currently planning its third fundraiser for another local Erie organization.
